You don't get my remorse for sniping with your calmando, but logistics and sentinel caldari skills aren't useless at all. Cal logistics and sentinel suit skills have practicality, just caldari logistics slot layout and the bad suit regeneration + unnecessary speed slowdown bring its performace down superbly. Caldari sentinels can survive the overpowered breach plasma rifles alongside laser rifles, and a well built cal sentinel can easily survive rails and combat rifles.
Caldari logistics at high levels can farm major wp points using triage nanohives, so not useless at all.
If anything the caldari assault and scout have the worst bonuses, because they're impractical.
Caldari scouts have to rely on speed and super regeneration to survive, and gallente and amarr bonuses beat caldari down to nothing because they can easily find caldari scouts + armour is more reliable. Caldari assault bonus doesn't improve rail weapon performance in any solid way compared to how amarr and minmatar assault skills do. Caldari scouts especially had their age old precision bonus changed to scanner radius some time ago, which was illogical, as scanner radius barely has practicality(because 10-15 metres is absolutely nothing an infantry unit could use to truly survive compared to how if people were careful they could lurk in areas and use precision bonus to find other scouts) most unrightful change there was, as it ruined the caldari player population and that was pretty much one of the only reasons why caldari players were in bigger numbers.
Don't limit yourself to caldari, even if you love the race, because of the bad shield regen in a wide majority of suits + the damage profiles of weapons(especially hybrid ones, which have damage profiles that allow for almost indiscriminate high damage towards both shields and armour)
I'd go gallente as they are the ones to specialise in armour regen, making being assaulted by the popular hybrid weapons a bit less easier.
People that can't achieve greatness without exploitation don't deserve to exist. Enroll in scout erradication today.
